With the help of a given landscape design the students will learn how to design their own landscape. The background consists of an easy machine piecing method. Raw edge appliqué and 3 - D embellishment are used for details such as leaves, bushes etc. Stems and tree trunks  are pieced and thread painted. This workshop is a lot of fun for students, who enjoy using their sewing machine and love to experiment with different techniques and materials.

In contrast to landscape I the students create their own design for a landscape using their own photograph. The background consists of an easy machine piecing method. Raw edge appliqué and 3 - D embellishment are used for details such as leaves, bushes etc. Stems and tree trunks are pieced and thread painted. Techniques shown in this class include couching, embroidery with ‘sulky solvy water soluble’ and layering of fabrics and slicing trough the layers. This workshop is a lot of fun for students, who enjoy using their sewing machine and love to experiment with different techniques and materials. In addition to workshop ‘ Landscape I’ the students will have the opportunity to create their own design.

This workshop could also be taught in 3 days. More emphasis would be on the designing aspect and on detail work.

The objects in this class are made in a reverse appliqué technique. The first layer of fabric is machine pieced (raw edge appliqué technique) and thread painted. Different shapes will be cut from the top layer of fabrics to create an interesting view. Different embellishment techniques such as couching and free hand motion embroidery will be shown.

The goal of the class is to motivate the students to create a 3 D objects that are usually made out of a material like clay, glass or porcelain.

Have you been dreaming about an abstract background, but never dared to approach a project? Are you ready to mix glue with your favorite fabric, paint on paper towels or include your favorite photo

If you just feel like playing around with all kinds of interesting materials such as, acrylic paint, fabric, newspaper, pictures, threads or tissue paper then you will enjoy this class. The goal is to loose the fear of white, empty fabric and paper and to create a fun, fast and different background. The idea is to unwind and just go for it. Perspectives and color theory will also be part of the class. Each student will have a finished background and 'jumper' for the cold water, at the end of the day.

This class is perfect for the student who was always afraid of painting!
